Voodoo Princess

Time for my second shoot from Sunday! Luiza really outdid herself with the styling, I love this modern, sleek take on a voodoo priestess. Maria C was wonderful as usual. I love these shots so I won't ramble on about the day.

Magic Man

After two years Mario has finally returned to his rightful place in front of my camera! A Sunday afternoon spent at a cemetery might not be everybody's cup of tea but cemeteries are usually very beautiful places and amazing backdrops for photography. And to be fair there seemed to be an unusual amount of people holding family powwows next to the tombs. This particular cemetery has the honor of being the oldest in the city and it's a wonderful maze of mausoleums and ornate tombs.

Luiza Pino is back as stylist extraordinaire for this magic man/evil person shoot. 30 + degree weather is no joke in a leather trench coat, so mad props to Mario for toughing it out.  This shoot was actually two shoots done at the same time and part tow will be up tomorrow!

We are happy even if we're smiling out of fear

I've been feeling so inspired by Lorde's music lately. If you have no idea who she is, go look her up NOW because she is wonderful and her song Tennis Courts is all I could listen to while editing this set.

Originally this was meant to be shot in a very cloudy, stormy beach but weather rarely cooperates and we shot during golden hour at a deserted beach. Despite 30 degree (Celsius) temperatures, model Maria C braved the grungy layers with cool aplomb. First-time stylist Luiza Pino did an amazing job putting together our 90's inspired wardrobe and took some shots through-out the whole thing, really looking forward to seeing her photos of the day. Kudos to our "assistant" Jose for his good cheer and holding a giant reflector in strong winds.
