Orange Crush I
Warning: enormous post ahead. Spent Saturday afternoon at the beach (again) with the beautiful Kate Walter and her friend Caro who was an awesome assistant (thanks for holding that reflector!) The shoot is separated between "Sun is so harsh I need the reflector to create shade" and "Holy balls, golden hour". Kudos to the sweet guy who let us borrow his surf board for five minutes. Part two coming soon!

Valentina
Mostly improvised shoots always turn out to be the best shoots. And it doesn't get more improvised than driving around on a Sunday afternoon looking for nice locations. Model is Valentina Salazar and fashion comes courtesy of local designers Judy Hazbun and Laetitia by Tatiana Robles.

Daniella
Finally met a fellow photographer in my home town. Dani answered my desperate pleas for willing models and we spent a couple of hours in one of Barranquilla's oldest and prettiest neighborhoods. She also sweet-talked the owner of a gorgeous old house into letting us use it for the shoot. Go Dani! Hoping to meet more local photogs and collaborating with Dani again soon.

Sunny side up
Is there anything quite as challenging as shooting at noon in the sub-tropical sun? Not really, especially after being used to the rather feeble English sun. It was noon or bust as my model had class all afternoon. Challenge accepted. I was very worried as I couldn't actually see if I was exposing and focusing the photos correctly (stupid glare) and I kept forgetting I had my sunglasses on. Luckily, or skillfully, I did get photos I loved and didn't take much editing. Kudos to Isabella for braving the 30 degree heat in that pink jumper. It's a lovely homecoming to shooting in Colombia again and I'm looking forward to more shoots.
