Drifters

It might sound a bit silly to say shopping for new makeup inspired a photo shoot, but in this case it's pretty accurate. I'm a sucker for bright colors and yesterday I found myself the owner of a brand, spanking new set of pro eye colors. Fuck yeah. In any case I had also planned to go to the beach with two of my besties (the other went off to another beach so she missed out, boo Mayi, boo). It's also been raining for a couple of days and today was cloudy as hell. Fortunately around 4ish the light became less flat and fugly gray and I realized my photo shoot might actually happen. So I sat them down and broke open those pretty colors. Applying the makeup was half the fun. I should take a course... but I digress. For a few glorious moments the sun peeked out from the clouds and gave me some drool-worthy shots. Yay! I even managed to get some sunburn on my neck. Redneck jokes forthwith. I also managed to get bitten by a spider afterwards.

Little Fox

Daiki Hayate is a three year old Shiba Inu that simply refuses to stay put for photos. Ever. It's quite annoying as he's so very pretty. That I got two usable shots is a miracle. He could take some lessons from the house diva, Flora, that orange cat that shows up in my photos from time to time. She's very demanding but always delivers. This has been a useless post.

wisps

A photoshoot with my ever willing model Isa. She was feeling down because she got braces put in and her wisdom teeth pulled out. Girl needed a pick me up.

behind the white catwalk

Thursday I spent the entire afternoon documenting the process of mounting a fashion show for a former school mate of mine. The collection was fantastically colorful and upbeat, which makes sense as the brand is called Laetitia which means joy. It's perfect for the city, as Barranquilla is nothing if not colorful and upbeat, not to mention hot as hell, so summer dresses and rompers fit the bill. I was there to take photos of the staff and model hijinks. Never thought I'd see the day when models shoved over staff to get to the food. I didn't manage to get a photo of that though, must confess I was doing some shoving myself. All in all a beautiful and hilarious group of girls. I narrowed down the photos to my absolute favorites, but if anyone feels like checking out the 100 + photos (that I edited, there were 300ish), head over to my facebook fan page (cringe) to ogle at them.

Up next: two photoshoot this week if all goes well. All images © Nathalie Donado

sunkissed

When I find some extra time and I'm feeling particularly inspired (read: I am bored out of my mind) I like to go back to my archives and re-edit some of my past work. I keep finding better ways to edit so I love making old photos look better than they ever have and even get a few new favorites along the way. I took these in March I belive, when we discovered a new beach, well new to us. I've been back a couple of times, including Day 365.

I think I'll have to split the fashion show post into two parts, there are just too many photos for one go and my computer is close to crashing and burning on me. I'll to upload part one tomorrow. Or today, as it is after midnight.

another week

My week was rather uninteresting except for a few snapshots I managed to sneak in. Massively excited for the fashion show I get to shoot this Thursday.

Out take from this week's photo.
