Mini-meetup

Finally met Elly Lucas! She moved to Sheffield a couple of months ago and a day out with her and Ella has been in the works since. England has officially moved to Autumn in great form by having three solid days of heavy rain. Go England! We braved the moors outside the city despite ominous clouds. Clouds were unmerciful. The moors are beautiful though and we managed to get a few good shots before going back to Elly's dream house (Ella and I plan to sneakily move in) for tea and bonding over migraines. As you do.

Camelot via Narnia

After a month of planning and being held back by the lovely British weather, Bex and I finally had our shoot. We were joined by the very talented Sarah who did triple-duty as MUA, came up with these amazing plaits and styled the autumn-inspired shoot. It's not a proper shoot in England without some rain and we were stranded in a restaurant for the better part of an hour before we could head off to the location. I am completely in love with this place. There's something about it that just pulls at my heart strings in all the right ways. I've been there before at a time close to sunset and the light breaking through the trees is pure magic. I love it so much I'm heading down there again with Ella for our August photo-adventure. I can't really do the shoot justice in writing, not right now, so on with the photos.

Braving Blizzards

Finally had a chance to use my camera. I fear Lafayette (aforementioned camera) is starting to resent my lack of picture taking. A DJ friend asked me to take some snaps for a promotional poster and headed up to the peaks with an impromptu assistant (glorified umbrella-holder). Of course as we drove up to the Peak District it started to snow and hail. On the bright side I'd just received my Sorel boots, so I had appropriate footwear for this expedition. Never underestimate proper footwear. The peaks were a slushy, foggy, cold, snowy mess. It was beautiful. Very much looking forward to going back.

Had a moment of panic when my Pentax film camera (which I didn't use...) refused to expose correctly. It seems to working fine now, am guessing the cold must have affected it somehow.

Worth the cold.
